The Residual begins fishing on the third weekend in April from Chesapeake Beach. The specific date depends on the opening of the rockfish season. Please call for an exact date
The trophy season runs from April to May 15th. The second season runs from May 16 to December 15th. During the second season, anglers can catch two fish. One between 18” to 28”. The second can be over 28”. Trophy fish can still be caught and by nature prefer cooler water. Warm water causes them to migrate out of the bay.
Mid-May - November
Captain Bill moves his operation to the upper bay where a wide array of fish can be caught. Anything from light tackle chumming or trolling for rockfish to bottom fishing for lots of white perch, etc. This is where you can have lots of action.
